More than £1,000 has been raised for a cancer charity after staff across the Sheldon Bosley Knight business hosted a series of coffee mornings.
The events on Monday, September 23 and Friday September 27 were part of Macmillan Cancer Support’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.
Alongside mugs of tea and coffee, staff baked cakes, biscuits and even sausage rolls before inviting locals in to sit down, have a cuppa and make a donation to Macmillan.
Generous attendees enabled our teams to raise more than £1,000, all of which will go towards the charity which helps those with cancer and their families.
Sheldon Bosley Knight’s Kineton residential sales manager, Paula Ross said: “Thank you to the amazing Kineton community for their wonderful support and generosity.”
Nuneaton sales manager Chris Smith said: “Everyone who came to visit us here in the Nuneaton office has been so generous and helped us raise an amazing £468.”
Associate director, Natasha Blackmore da Silva added: “Notwithstanding the weather, we had a lovely morning in Stratford office for Macmillan. The whole office was out in support and donated a selection of tasty cakes for everyone to enjoy.”
Sheldon Bosley Knight’s Shipston sales manager Amy Nicholson said: “It was a great day and lovely to see residents and business owners popping in to support us.
“We all baked cakes and treats and my son Archie helped the day before and on the day by making takeaway boxes and delivering flyers to spread the word.
“Our lettings manager Sarah baked sausage rolls as a savoury option, which delighted a lovely farmer as his wife had been cared for by Macmillan. He was over the moon to walk away with a box of sausage rolls for his lunch.
“Even if people couldn’t stay for coffee, they came in for a takeaway and donated generously, some commenting that Macmillan had done a lot for their family and were happy to support the cause.”
Macmillan’s statistics show on average someone is diagnosed with cancer in the UK at least every 90 seconds. Across the country, there are more than 3 million people living with cancer and this is set to rise to 4 million by 2030.
