Stratford Literary Festival Autumn 2015

Brian BlessedWe are really excited to be sponsoring the Stratford Literary Festival Autumn Plus Events later this month.

This mini festival of literary treats runs from 22nd to 29th October and features some very well-known and much loved personalities from the worlds of film, theatre, cooking, history and poetry.

Jo Bell Poetry WorkshopWe kick off with a poetry workshop by multi-award winning poet Jo Bell who will be leading this lively and discursive full-day event from 10am to 3.30pm. Suitable for all abilities!

Tom KerridgeLater that day Tom Kerridge, popular TV chef from BBC’s Food & Drink and Spring Kitchen series as well as Saturday  Kitchen, Great British Menu and MasterChef will be sharing his story and the creation of his latest book Tom’s Table: My Favourite Everyday Recipes.

On the 29th, best-selling historian Max Hastings will present ‘The Secret War‘ in which he examines the other war waged by British, American, German, Russian and Japanese intelligence-gathering personnel, charting the successes and failures of Allied and Axis forces, espionage and counterespionage.

Max HastingsThe much-loved Brian Blessed will no doubt be in splendid form when he takes the stage for his session aptly named ‘Absolute Pandemonium‘. He will walk us through his riotous career that has taken him from Z-Cars to the role of Boss Nass in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace.

Last but by no means least, Sir Tim Rice, world famous lyricist who has csir tim riceollaborated with the likes of Andrew Lloyd Webber, Elton John, Alan Menken and ABBA’s Bjorn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson, will discuss his astonishing career in ‘Sir Tim Rice – In Conversation‘. His clever words have made Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita, Chess, The Lion King, Aida, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast (to name a very few) the blockbuster successes they have become.

Not forgetting the little ones, there will be a full day of fun and exciting activities for children on the 29th featuring a Halloween workshop, creative writing skills, singing, a theatre adventure with Playbox Theatre and a delightful session with bestselling author Chloe Inkpen.
