The Bank of England has recently published figures which show that “buy-to-let” mortgage lending has risen by 40% since 2008.
Over the same period owner-occupied lending has increased by only 2%.
This boom in residential property investment arises with poor returns from other sectors particularly with bank interest having been so low in recent years. We anticipate that growth in the “buy-to-let” sector of the property market will continue.
