Welcome to Sheldon Bosley Knight Auctions. Founded in 1843.
For buyers and sellers who value speed and security in their transaction, our auction service offers lots varying from family homes, buy-to-let properties, commercial property, land with and without planning permission and even freehold ground rents.

Why sell at auction?
If you've sold land or property before, you've likely used the traditional private treaty process through an estate or land agent. While familiar, it can take around 156 days to complete, with around 30% of sales falling through. Selling at auction follows a similar process but is faster, more transparent, and far more secure.
Security
Once the hammer falls and the reserve is met, a legally binding contract is formed and contracts are exchanged immediately. This removes the risk of gazumping, renegotiation, or the sale falling through, giving both buyer and seller complete certainty.
Speed
With auction, the legal work is completed before the sale, so once the hammer falls, completion is much faster. You choose the completion date, giving you greater control and certainty over the timescales.
Transparency
Every auction is completely transparent. Buyers can review the legal pack in advance, bids are made publicly and you can be confident your property has achieved the best possible price on the day.

Why buy at auction?
Buying land or property at auction is becoming increasingly popular, offering a faster, more secure and transparent alternative to traditional sales. It's no longer just for investors—anyone can buy at auction, including first-time and family home buyers.
There are three main benefits to buying land or property through auction:
Security: Once the auction finishes and you’re the successful buyer, there isn’t any risk of being gazumped, a chain collapsing or the seller changing their mind.
Speed: At the end of the auction, at the fall of the gavel, contracts are exchanged between the highest bidder and the seller. Completion normally takes place 20 working days after the sale, so you’ll get your keys in no time at all.
Transparency: You can see who else is bidding! Unlike ‘best and final offers’, all bids are in the open and transparency can be assured throughout the auction.
