Farmers’ Forum success ensures more to come

Following on from the success of the Andrew Granger & Co Farmers’ Forum in Leicestershire earlier this year, Sheldon Bosley Knight recently hosted the first of what we hope will be many more local forums.
The event, which took place in Shipston-on-Stour in Warwickshire, delivered several presentations on current issues faced by farmers and landowners but also offered a networking opportunity and a general catch-up for the local rural community.
Led by Peter Williams, our director of rural, we were also joined by a range of experts in their fields including Richard Dundee from Wright Hassall LLP and Dan Martin from Ellacotts to discuss succession and inheritance tax planning for the multi-generational family farming businesses.
Natasha Blackmore da Silva, our associate director and head of planning and architecture at gave advice on permitted developments and diversification opportunities.
Lastly, Kirsty Righton from the South Warwickshire Sustainable Farming Group and Jane Hampson from the Warwickshire Rural Hub gave a brief presentation on the support their respective organisations provide to the farming community.
Also in attendance were Jo Webb from the Addington Fund and Carl Woodwards, Karen Ellis and Sam Evans from The Farming Community Network – two charitable organisations which provide incredible support to families within the farming community.
We were delighted so many people attended the event and from the feedback we have received both Sheldon Bosley Knight and Andrew Granger & Co are planning further events later this year.

Keep your eyes peeled for more information! In the meantime, our rural teams are always here to help. You can find out more or please call 01608 661666.
