Leicester and the immediate area is one of the busiest markets in the UK when it comes to the estimated number of homes listed for sale.

It joins Liverpool and Bradford in the top three of 14 major British cities which also includes Birmingham and London.

The research looked at the total number of homes currently listed for sale and what this equates to in terms of the average number of homes listed per agent.

According to the data by eXp UK, Leicester sits third in the rankings, with 28 homes listed for sale per agent.

Sheldon Bosley Knight’s Oadby sales manager, Leigh Chapple-Lynch said he was not surprised to see the figures.

He said: “We’ve already seen a huge amount of buyer interest in the area already this year and in an area as fantastic as this, who can blame them.

“We currently have 31 properties listed for sale – above the average quoted for Leicester – an incredible 15 sold subject to contract (SSTC) and so far this week we have seven valuations booked.

“This doesn’t tell the whole story though. Last year we helped even more people get the keys to their new home for which our office scooped the income vs target for sales award for 2025 at our annual company awards ceremony.

“The market is very busy and so are we, so if you are looking to sell this year, now is a great time to do so as we have a lot of very motivated buyers!
