More auction success for SBK

SBK is celebrating another successful auction.

At the event in Stratford-upon-Avon, 21 lots were available including buy-to-lets and land.

One of the most exciting lots at the sale on Wednesday, September 13, was land at Upper Boddington near Daventry, comprising a 0.2 acre parcel of land surrounded by agricultural fields.

With a guide price of just £5,000 it went for £41,500 after fierce bidding from in-room and online bidders.

The other standout lot was 1 St Nicholas Road, Radford Semele, near Leamington Spa. This was subject to fierce bidding from two individuals in particular, neither of whom wanted to give up. It finally sold for £270,000, £70,000 above the guide price.

This was the first auction in which SBK introduced live streaming, meaning anyone could watch and bid on the auction online. It allowed people to bid by one of four methods – in room, telephone, proxy or online.

SBK’s head of auctions, Matt Burrows said: “This was yet another exciting sale with 21 lots up for grabs and each one representing great value and investment potential.

“We are seeing an increasing number of people enquiring about auctions as a way to sell their land or property. It represents a great way to do so especially if time, security, or transparency is a driving factor.

“The auction also showcases the different aspects of the SBK business whether from commercial freehold, sale of freehold ground rent, development projects, residential, buy-to-let, rural, land with planning permission, barn conversions or freehold pasture land.

“We are already gearing up for our next sale which takes place once again at Stratford-upon-Avon Town Hall on Wednesday, November 29.
