More than £2 million raised at SBK’s latest auction

An impressive £2.2 million was raised at Sheldon Bosley Knight’s latest auction.

The standout Lots were a flat in Highfield Street Leicester and a flat in St Mary’s Road, Market Harborough.

Bidding was intense from both in-room and online buyers for both lots. The Highfield Street property went for £64,000, £14,000 above the guide price and the flat in St Mary’s Road went for £70,500, more than £10,000 above its guide price.

In total 83.3% of the available lots were sold at the sale which took place at Hinckley Golf Club on Wednesday, May 7.

It was also the first time wielding the gavel for auctioneer Samantha-Marie Parsons.

Samantha-Marie, who gained her professional qualification as auctioneer earlier this year, was in charge of proceedings for three lots and sold all of them.

Sheldon Bosley Knight’s associate director Matt Burrows said: “I am very proud of Samantha-Marie who took command of the room in her first sale as auctioneer.

“She has worked extremely hard to gain her qualifications and she was a complete natural when she took to the rostrum.

“It can be a daunting experience to be in front of a room full of people but she handled it with ease and was confident in her approach.

“Overall the sale was a success and we had some very happy buyers and sellers.”

Samantha-Marie said: “This sale was full of interesting lots which showcased the breadth of the Sheldon Bosley Knight business so I was delighted to have been part of it.

“Being on the rostrum was exhilarating as it’s often fast-paced and you have to make sure you can see everyone who may want to bid.

“To have sold all three lots I was in charge of was very special and I’m delighted for the sellers.

“I am already looking forward to our next sale which will be on June 18.”
