SBK’s commercial team toasts success

Sheldon Bosley Knight’s (SBK) commercial department is celebrating after successfully negotiating the sale of a well-known and much-loved Stratford café.

Hobson’s Patisseries, in Henley Street not far from Shakespeare’s birthplace, is somewhat of an institution in the town having been established in 2010.

When the owners wanted to retire, and after a year on the market with another agent, they chose SBK to handle the sale of the business.

With an asking price of £300,000 for the leasehold interest, the café was on the market for just a week before it was sold.

SBK’s senior commercial agent Steve Bell said: “This sale was a pleasure to work on from start to finish.

“It was important to get it right so I sat down with the owner and got to know the ins and outs of the business. From this we tailored a marketing programme to present Hobson’s in the best way to suit this individual transaction.

“Within a short period we had a number of interested potential buyers and accepted an offer for the full asking price.

“By creating a marketing plan specific to each business we can make the most of the market conditions whatever the external factors.”

Owner Shailesh Parekh said: “After taking it over I’ve found to my surprise it is a far better business than it appeared.

“SBK was very professional and proactively involved during the entire process of the transaction, for which I thank you once again.”
