We were delighted once again to sponsor the annual Spring 10k Run or Walk to raise funds for Shipston Home Nursing on April 17th.

Following weeks of very dubious weather including snow the day before, we were greeted by a beautiful sunny Spring morning with blue sky and bright sunshine.

Team Winners – Penny Roberts & Alan James

The course wound through the beautiful grounds of Walton Hall and we had an impressive 130 entrants this year with a mix of all ages and abilities – including dogs!

They all returned in one piece having safely negotiated the exceedingly muddy conditions.

There was an amazing atmosphere and everyone crossed the finishing line with a big smile as the onlookers cheered them on.

For some, it was their first 10k and we hope to see them back again next year.

Winner Adult Male – Paul Taylor from Brailes, member of the Hook Norton Harriers Running Club and only started running in September!

Winner Adult Female – Janell Clarke of Whichford, keen running enthusiast

Winner Youth Boy – Miles Taylor, age 10 (son of Adult male winner, Paul Taylor)

Winner Youth Girl – Millie Reynolds, age 14 from Ettington. This was Millie’s first 10k so hat’s off to Millie!

Winning Team – The James Gang, Penny Roberts & Alan James from Kineton

 

There were some very generous donations on the day including participants who paid way above the actual entrance fee, for which we are very grateful as this is such an important local cause.

We will provide an update on funds raised once the final total is confirmed.

We would like to say very well done and a big thank-you to everyone who took part and helped us organise the event including Walton Hall for their fantastic hospitality and for providing the much needed hot drinks and hotdogs after the race!
