Evesham spreads some Christmas cheer

Christmas presents are on their way to children living in poverty around the world thanks to the generosity of the people of Evesham.

More than 35 boxes full of gifts were dropped off at the Sheldon Bosley Knight office for the annual Operation Christmas Child Shoebox appeal.

Each box is filled with gifts for young children up to the age of about 14. Items can include toys, toiletries, colouring books and pens or clothes such as hats, gloves and scarves.

It is the fifth year the Evesham office has been used as a drop off point and organiser, senior lettings manager, Josh Jones said he was delighted with the response.

He said: “Every year the community comes together and is so generous. It’s always heart-warming to see all the presents stacked up in the office.

“We are very lucky living here but there are many, many people around the world who are much less fortunate and so this is our way of giving back.

“The boxes we had will make a huge difference and hopefully bring a lot of happiness to children who have nothing. This year we also had extra gifts donated which will be added to make up extra boxes to bring even more joy.

“I can’t say thank you enough all those in Evesham who have made a donation – it’s fantastic!”
