Love letter to Pershore

Dear Pershore
We love you! With your elegant Georgian architecture, magnificent Abbey, agriculture and of course plums, you are one of Worcestershire’s gems.
Set in the Vale of Evesham, Pershore is such a pretty and historic market town with a definite sense of fun.
This is epitomised in the Pershore Plum Festival, held every August, in which the local tradition of growing plums is celebrated in style. Varieties include Pershore Purple, Pershore Yellow Egg Plum and Pershore Emblem.
The festival includes a family fun run, plum themed art exhibition and the Plum Fayre.
Continuing the theme of fun, spring bank holiday sees a carnival in town, held for the entertainment and enjoyment of people from the town and the surrounding area.
Each year has a different theme, and the programme covers designed by children at Pershore schools. A procession passing through the town ending at Abbey Park kicks off proceedings. During the procession a bucket collection is taken in support of the year’s two carnival charities. In the park there are stalls, a show arena, a dog show and other attractions, each year being different. The day ends with an evening concert and firework display.
We love that Pershore has a great atmosphere and a wonderful community spirit and is therefore a fantastic place to live. There are  a great mix of shops in the main streets, as well as a covered market, cafes, pubs and hotels.
The river is beautiful and allows opportunities to travel in boats as well as paddleboard – which some of SBK’s more intrepid staff tried out last year!
We at SBK love Pershore so much we’ve just opened a lettings office within our Pershore branch. What do you love about Pershore?
