Plum Festival is back!

Plums feature heavily in the Worcestershire town of Pershore and this month is no exception.

The annual Plum Festival will see the town go plum crazy over the Bank Holiday weekend and once again, Sheldon Bosley Knight is one of the supporters.

The event is the highlight of the town’s calendar and regularly attracts thousands of visitors.

One of the most popular evenings of the Festival is the annual Bike Nite on Thursday, August 21. Everyone wears purple to support the bikers and get in the plum mood. The heart of the action will be in Broad Street where hundreds of motorcycle enthusiasts from across the region will showcase their incredible motorbikes.

As well as the bikes, there will be live music and plenty of food and drink with stalls offering local treats and as you would expect, a few plum-themed specials.

Elsewhere there will be a Quiz Night, street food, cooking and gardening demos, a cider festival, open air cinema, family fun day, Plum Pooches dog show, classic cars and the Plum Fayre and Farmers Market.

Pershore senior lettings manager Josh Jones said: “The Pershore Plum Festival is a wonderful celebration of everything that makes our town so special – from the rich history of our famous plums to the incredible community spirit that fills the streets every August.

“With music, food, markets, and fun for all ages, it’s a time when locals and visitors alike can come together, share in our traditions and enjoy a truly unique festival atmosphere.”

We are running a stand each day, which consists of a “guess how many balloons are in the car” competition to win a £125 Fortnum and Mason hamper. We will also be doing a spinning wheel to win some mystery prizes!

The Pershore Plum Festival runs throughout the month culminating in the Big Plum Weekend between August 23 and 25. Visit www.pershoreplumfestival.org.uk for a full line up.
