This summer, two members of our Planning & Architecture team, Tasha Blackmore Da Silva and Izzy Allford, will be taking on the Myton Hospice Coventry Cathedral Abseil to help raise money for an incredibly worthwhile cause.
The challenge will see participants descend the iconic Coventry Cathedral, all in aid of Myton Hospice, a charity that provides vital care and support for people living with terminal illnesses and their families across Coventry and Warwickshire.
For Tasha, this year marks her sixth Myton Hospice fundraising challenge, whilst it will be Izzy’s second year taking part. Both are passionate about supporting the hospice and helping raise awareness of the incredible work the charity undertakes every day within the local community.
Tasha said: “Over the years I have seen first-hand just how much Hospice’s including Myton mean to families during some of the most difficult times in their lives. Sadly, the last few years my own family has experienced hospice support firsthand after my Grandad was diagnosed with terminal cancer. The care and compassion everyone provided during such a difficult time was truly invaluable.
Taking part in the Coventry Cathedral abseil for a sixth year is a small way of giving something back to a charity that means so much. Every donation, no matter how small, will help Myton Hospice continue providing this incredible support to other families across our community.”
Like many charities, Myton Hospice relies heavily on fundraising and public donations to continue delivering its specialist services. Events such as the Coventry Cathedral Abseil play an important role in helping to fund patient care, counselling services and family support.
Izzy added: “Taking part last year was such a rewarding experience and I knew I wanted to do it again. Myton Hospice supports so many people and families across our region, and every donation genuinely helps them continue providing that care and compassion.”
We are incredibly proud of both Tasha and Izzy for taking on this challenge and supporting such an important cause.
If you are able to support them, any donation, large or small, would be hugely appreciated and will help Myton Hospice continue their amazing work within our community. If you are in Coventry on the morning of 11th July, why not come visit and show your support for all the participants in person.
