Our Planning & Architecture department is passionate about supporting the next generation of built environment professionals. In June 2026, we welcomed Quinlan for a one-week work experience placement within our architectural team, where he made an excellent impression throughout his time with us.

During the placement, Quinlan undertook a design project under the guidance of our architects. He prepared a feasibility scheme for the replacement of a Class Q barn conversion, producing a ground floor plan, elevations and high-quality 3D rendered views of the proposed development. Throughout the project, he demonstrated creativity, enthusiasm and initiative, responding positively to feedback and continually developing his ideas.

Quinlan also gained an introduction to Building Information Modelling (BIM), quickly developing a basic understanding of the software and contributing to drawings and presentation material for review by the team.

Away from the office, he assisted with a measured building survey on a live project. He followed instructions carefully, showed excellent attention to detail and contributed positively throughout the survey process.

Reflecting on the placement, our Architect Jimena Fejer commented:

“Quinlan demonstrated a high level of curiosity and maturity, engaging well with the team and approaching tasks in a professional manner. He has been a pleasure to work with and has shown good potential for further development in architecture.”
