Today, we celebrate International Women’s Day. This annual, global event is designed to celebrate women’s achievements, raise awareness about discrimination and take action to drive gender parity.

This year’s theme is #AccelerateAction. Focusing on the need to accelerate action emphasises the importance of taking swift and decisive steps to achieve gender equality. It calls for increased momentum and urgency in addressing the systemic barriers and biases women face, both in personal and professional spheres.

These themes and plenty more were covered in a series of talks at this week’s Women in Estate Agency Conference, held in London.

The event was a chance for agency professionals to come together, find ways to build a vibrant community, network, celebrate achievements and listen to inspiring women who covered subjects such as finding your voice, making an impact and the keynote speech by Rightmove’s Jenny Barker on unleashing potential.

Sheldon Bosley Knight’s lettings director Rebecca Dean, regional lettings manager Jo Egan and lettings operations manager Tara Doughty were at the conference.

Rebecca said: “It’s the third ever conference this year and so far, we’ve found them to be fantastic and an incredibly empowering and inspirational day.”

Jo said: “It is so much more than a conference. It is a day shared with fabulous women and men who are passionate about making a change in the industry and striving for equality.”
