Congratulations to our associate director and auctioneer Matt Burrows, who has gained yet another professional qualification!
Matt, who has been with Sheldon Bosley Knight since November 2022, successfully passed the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) final assessment with flying colours to become a RICS chartered surveyor and a member of RICS (MRICS).
To gain the qualification entails being able to demonstrate a series of competencies through a combination of case studies and final assessment interview which sees the examiners interrogate the candidate’s knowledge and experience.
It was, says Matt, a rigorous set of assessments which also included a module on profession and ethics.
Matt said: “I couldn’t be happier! Achieving RICS chartered status marks a major milestone in my career and I’m incredibly proud of this achievement.
“Being professionally qualified in property is so important as it demonstrates to clients I am at a level which is the pinnacle of property-based qualifications.
“It was definitely an ambition of mine to get it, not least as it’s professional development, but also some of our clients require a RICS qualification and it opens the door to some clients who recognise RICS as a high threshold of integrity.”
Matt’s achievement comes on top of also successfully passing his training to be accepted as a member of the National Auctioneers and Valuers Association last year.
Not one to rest on his laurels he’s already working on his Level 7 City and Guilds qualification in strategic leadership and management.
