Ben has recently joined SBK as a commercial agent after working for a software development company and more recently as general manager of flexible workspace provider, IWG Plc.

What attracted you to joining SBK?

​I felt SBK was a forward thinking, exciting company which, after plenty of research, showed a clear ambition for expansion. I felt this was the right step for me in my career to start learning more about commercial property and seizing various new opportunities.

What does your job entail?

​As a commercial agent, my job is to bring in new business where clients are looking to sell or let their commercial property and matching what we currently have with applicant enquiries. It’s my job to ensure our clients get the best offer they can.

What is the best bit about your job?

For me, the best bit about the job is representing SBK on viewings. I love showing clients around a property that could potentially provide them with a start to their business venture or could be an expansion from their current premises.

What qualifications did you need to do this job?

Experience! I completed my Chartered Management Institute (CMI) Level 5 in my previous role, which enabled me to learn how to manage various teams. My previous role also required large amounts of self-generated work/leads. Being given that experience enabled me to understand the fundamentals of self-motivation, how to manage various teams as well as being accountable for my own work.

What motivates you to work hard?

What motivates me to work hard is the wonderful woman I have at home! I see the effort she puts in and the success she’s achieved which constantly drives me to work harder.

What’s been your career highlight so far?

Completing my CMI Level 5 and becoming a chartered manager was by far the best career highlight so far.
