Claire’s leap of faith

Huge congratulations to our Leamington lettings manager, Claire Paginton, who alongside her friend Kate Livingstone, has raised more than £2,700 for charity.

The pair navigated a series of 16 giant inflatable obstacles such as Bish Bash, the Crawler, Swing Shot and the Growler, in aid of Myton Hospice.

The event – The World’s Largest Inflatable 5K – took place on Saturday, July 26 in Coventry and Claire admits it was tougher than it looked.

She said: “There was quite the distance between the obstacles and we hadn’t planned for how muggy it was on the day, so it was not easy.

“They all had names and with ones such as the Growler we weren’t sure what to expect but we managed to bounce, stretch, duck and dive most of them.

“The hardest ones were what I can only describe as human sized inflatable lollipops. No sooner had we pushed them out of the way they swung back to knock us over!

“I also challenged myself to drop off the top of a five-metre slide called The Leap of Faith, something that looked much taller when standing at the top!”

Their determination to conquer the course was matched by their determination to smash their personal fundraising goals which they did, and in doing so, helped Myton Hospice exceed its own target of £30,000.

Claire took part in the event in memory of her dear friend, former boss and mentor Matthew, who had been looked after by the team at Myton Hospice, particularly in his final days following his cancer diagnosis.

She said: “It’s been an honour taking part in the memory of my late boss, who was the boss, a dear friend and mentor who is so sadly missed.

“I cannot thank everyone enough for their most generous donations to help me achieve my goal and beyond! I’ll be back for a bigger challenge in 2026 as it so important that we support these charities with all our might.”
