Guide prices smashed with fierce bidding at SBK auction

Fierce bidding on two lots thrilled those who attended the final Sheldon Bosley Knight auction of the year.

Both lots sold over the guide price at the sale which took place at Stratford-upon-Avon Town Hall on Wednesday, November 29.

Lot 2, Talbot Cottage, in High Street, Alcester had a guide price of £85,000. After competitive bidding both in room and online, it sold for £98,000.

Lot 14, Flat 3, in Regent Place, Leamington Spa, had a guide price of £135,000. It sold for £164,000 following fierce competition from online bidders.

In total there were 11 lots on offer at the sale with a further two withdrawn prior, one of which as a result of a pre-auction sale.

Sheldon Bosley Knight’s auctioneer, Matt Burrows said: “We are delighted with these two lots achieving above guide price for our sellers. Although the room was packed, it ended up with two bidders online who stole the show.

“The sale marked the first anniversary of the new auction department and I’m incredibly proud of all we have achieved.

“Auctions remain a really good place to sell both land and property as it offers both security and speed.

“If you have any land or property which you are considering selling, please do get in touch to see what sale by auction can offer.”
