What is your job title and where are you based?

I am the auction negotiator and based in Stratford-upon-Avon.

What is your role and what does your job entail?

As auction negotiator, my role focuses primarily on dealing with buyers, offers which come through ahead of the auctions and getting people registered for the auction they have an interest in. A typical day would be contacting all the buyers who have made enquires, calling those who have had viewings for feedback, updating vendors on the marketing of their property and how the auction is looking for them.

What did you do before this job?

Previously I was a letting negotiator in Shoreditch in London for two years for a company named Striling Ackroyd. I adored the team I worked with and the company was good too.

How did you get into the property industry and how long have you worked within it?

I got into property after watching the first season of Selling Sunset on Netflix! I said, I want to do that and I have now worked in property for three years. I love it!

What attracted you to working for Sheldon Bosley Knight?

Initially I didn’t know too much about the company, but Matt Burrows, who is our auctioneer, made me excited about the role in the interview.

What’s the best bit about your job?

Without doubt, the people I work with.

What motivates you to work hard?

My motivation is constantly to better myself, my career and my life.

Who or what inspires you?

Achieving the goals and aspirations I set myself inspire me to do well.

What are your career goals?

My career goals are to constantly be progressing. I am always looking for the next challenge. I also want to progress within Sheldon Bosley Knight to have my own team someday.

What do you do when you are not at work?

When I’m not at work, I tend to my vast collection of rare and exotic houseplants. I have several hundred and I spend a lot of my spare time sourcing new and interesting varieties. Alongside this I go to the gym which is something I thoroughly enjoy and I’m an avid Netflix lover.

What is the best piece of career advice you have ever been given?

The best piece of advice I have ever received career wise is: “Be selfish, never let yourself be put last in a race you are wanting to win. Always think of what you need to be the best you can be.”
