Successful auction raises £1.5 million from eight lots

An incredible £1.5 million was raised at Sheldon Bosley Knight’s latest auction.

A total of 11 lots from across Coventry and Warwickshire, Leicestershire and Worcestershire went under the hammer in the sale which took place at Stratford-upon-Avon Town Hall on Wednesday, September 4.

Led by Sheldon Bosley Knight’s associate director and auctioneer, Matt Burrows, eight lots sold on the night, representing a 72.7% success rate.

In what was a steady sale, with plenty of bidders for each lot. One of the fiercest battles of the night was for land at Grove Road in Stratford-upon-Avon. With two bidders fighting it out, it eventually sold for £294,000, £44,000 above guide price.

Matt said: “This auction had a real mix of land and property, investment and development options and so I’m delighted at its success.

“There was a good atmosphere in the room despite most bidders being online or registering to vote by telephone.

“Three quarters of the lots sold representing £1.5 million worth of land and property.

“Buyers and sellers choose auctions due to the speed and security the route of sale offers. All the lots which sold at the fall of the gavel exchanged contracts on the night, and completion will take place within 20days. This means there are no delays in buyers getting hold of their new land or property, and sellers aren’t worried if the deal will complete or not, as the route offers a 99.99% success rate after the hammer falls.
