COVID-19 Update | January 2021

Unlike the lockdown of March 2020; the government have announced that during this lockdown, buying, selling and letting activities can continue in England. Renters and homeowners in England will still be able to move and estate agents can still operate by going inside homes as long COVID safety guidance is followed.

Moving Home: You can still move home. People outside your household or support bubble should not help with moving house unless absolutely necessary. Estate and letting agents and removal firms can continue to work. If you are looking to move you can go to property viewings. Follow the national guidance on moving home safely which includes advice on social distancing, letting fresh air in and wearing a face covering.⠀
As far as estate agency operations are concerned, there is basically no change from tiers 3 and 4 that applied before the new guidelines. This, therefore, means that estate and letting agents can continue to work but our doors currently remain closed. The key message however is to reduce the amount of people we meet at properties and therefore only people in a position to proceed will be allowed to do viewings, and only if they do not have the virus or any symptoms.⠀
Viewings and market appraisals can still take place but only with the COVID secure policy in mind and face masks worn by all parties at all times.⠀
If a sale has already been agreed you can continue to exchange and completion. New sales can be agreed and processed in the usual way.⠀
Lettings, check-ins, and check-outs can continue with a COVID secure policy and all interim inspections can be conducted but preferably with only one other person in the property.⠀
If you feel unclear or uncertain about any of the above, please do not hesitate to contact your local office.⠀
