Meet the team – Katie Fitzgerald

Katie has recently joined us and is based in the Evesham office. Highly motivated and always aiming to go the extra mile when it comes to doing what’s right for her clients, she has already made a positive impact in the team. When she’s not at work she loves spending time having adventures with her young daughter.

What is your job title and where are you based?

I’m senior lettings negotiator based in our Evesham office.

What is your role and what does your job entail?

I cover all aspects of lettings from valuing until the handover of keys. My goal is to help landlords and tenants achieve their property aspirations and to contribute the growth and reputation of Sheldon Bosley Knight.

What did you do before this job?

I was previously lettings manager for an independent letting agency in Redditch. Unfortunately, the company was sold just before my maternity leave in 2022, and I didn’t return.

How did you get into the property industry?

I started at 19 as a lettings apprentice and moved through the company working in all areas of front-end lettings and property management. I have loved it from the beginning and worked hard to progress to lettings manager.

What attracted you to working for SBK?

I liked Sheldon Bosley Knight’s values and how customer care was so important to them.

What’s the best bit about your job?

Helping out clients and going to extra mile for them.

What qualifications or training do you need to do this job?

I personally think lettings should be a regulated industry, due to the high number of pieces of legislation governing it. I hold the NFOPP Level 3 and 4 Awards in Residential Letting and Property Management, as well as the Propertymark Level 3 Award in the Sale of Residential Property and am Associate Member (AssocRICS), which demonstrate my commitment to professional development and industry standards.

What motivates you to work hard?

To give clients the best experience and go above and beyond their expectations.

Who or what inspires you?

ARLA Propertymark vice president, Megan Eighteen. She is continually breaking down barriers in the lettings industry and she’s not afraid to be the voice for agents.

What are your career goals?

For the time being, my career goals are to continue to have a good work life balance whilst my little girl is still young, and then progress upwards once she is older.

What do you do when you are not at work?

I have a one-year-old daughter Freya, so currently I spend most of my free time on days out with her.

What is the best piece of career advice you have ever been given?

Under promise and over deliver.
