Planning approval for new Evesham office

Sheldon Bosley Knight’s (SBK) Evesham-based teams will soon be moving into their new home.

The property at 1 Bridge Street, a former bank, was granted listed building consent and advertisement approval for internal renovation works and new signage.

In considering the proposals, which were put forward by SBK’s planning and architecture team, the council’s conservation officer asked for additional information to illustrate how the works would be undertaken without impacting the historic elements and features of the building.

The officer was satisfied the right balance was achieved between commercial need and heritage conservation and recommended the scheme for approval. It was approved under delegated powers on April 18.

Works are due to start in preparation for the relocation which is due to take place later this year and will see Evesham’s sales and lettings teams, as well as commercial and finance departments move to their new offices.

SBK’s head of planning and architecture, Natasha Blackmore da Silva said: “This was not a straightforward renovation and advertisement application.

“The listed status of the building added an additional layer of difficulty, which meant we had to take care to ensure works were restricted to modern non-historic parts of the building and externally remained sympathetic to the listed façade.

“We worked closely with the council’s conservation officer to ensure a balance between respecting the architectural features of the existing building and meeting with need for external business branding.

“I want to thank my team for their hard work in getting these applications approved. I know the Evesham teams will be excited to be able move into their new home very soon!”
