Celebrating International Women’s Day

On Wednesday, Sheldon Bosley Knight was represented at a school careers fair by some of our team.

Amongst them were two women who are part of the planning and architecture department.

As well as to promote the wider business, they wanted to shine a light on how women can play just as big a role as their male counterparts in any sector, but particularly in a traditionally male-dominated environments, such as construction, planning, architecture, land and property.

The students, at Myton School in Warwick, were able to find out more about our business, what qualifications they needed (if any) and how we aim to be inclusive, diverse and equal.

Today, we celebrate International Women’s Day. This global annual event is designed to celebrate women’s achievements, raise awareness about discrimination and take action to drive gender parity.

This year’s theme is #inspireinclusion with an aspiration of a world free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination, a world that is diverse, equitable and inclusive and a world where difference is valued and celebrated.

At SBK, we celebrate the achievements and successes of all the women in our business and our track record in recruiting and retaining the very best talent.

But we know we can do more. We want to encourage more women into this amazing, fascinating and challenging sector and for them to see it as a great industry to be in. It’s rewarding, exciting and fulfilling.

That’s why we will continue to be a part of careers events at schools and colleges, raising awareness and #inspiringinclusion.
