We are delighted to strengthen our senior team with the appointment of Kevin Jackson. Kevin brings with him more than 30 years’ experience in the property industry so we are certain he will be a huge asset to the company! Welcome Kevin!

What is your Sheldon Bosley Knight job title and where are you based?

I am regional sales manager and associate director. I look after all offices in the north (Coventry, Nuneaton, Market Bosworth) and the Andrew Granger & Co branches.

What is your role and what does your job entail? Is there a typical day?

I look after the day-to-day running of each branch and their staff in respect of their sales performance, customer service and referral business.

What did you do before joining Sheldon Bosley Knight?

I was a senior area director at Connells for 15 years.

How did you get into the property industry and how long have you worked within it?

I’ve worked in property for over 30 years starting as an office junior for Black Horse Agencies – Frank Innes in 1992. I have held roles in all areas of the industry and over the last 20 years was in a senior role responsible for all aspects of the business including sales, lettings, financial services and new homes. Most recently I was responsible for 26 branches.

What attracted you to working for Sheldon Bosley Knight?

I was impressed by the high moral code they work under, the support and respect given to all staff and the ethical way in which they approach business. I’ve also been very impressed with their ambition in creating new departments and acquiring new businesses.

What’s the best bit about your job?

Seeing people succeed in their role and being able to influence that. Also seeing customers experience a great journey with us.

What qualifications or training do you need to do this job?

Formal qualifications are not required to be a very successful estate agent. The role requires a lot of hard work, organisation and the ‘gift of the gab’ to ensure you build great rapport with all clients. Since people buy from people, it’s essential you are able to get on well with your clients and demonstrate professionalism at all times.

What motivates you to work hard?

Success! I’m highly motivated by an objective and will always do everything in my power to ensure it is achieved.

Who or what inspires you?

I’ve had many mentors during my time in the property industry and each of them have, in their own way, inspired me to be the best I can be every day, but it’s my family that drive me.

What are your career goals?

I am keen to be an influential member of the senior management team and see the business take a commanding position as a market leader in all areas we operate in. I am also keen to expand the business by moving it into new counties.

What do you do when you are not at work?

I am a huge family man. We own a VW camper and love to get away on impromptu adventures with Afie, our cavapoo, walking and visiting country pubs. I’ve two wonderful teenage children who I love spending time with. I play golf when I can and am a qualified drone pilot! I also love downtime with a good movie or binge-worthy series. Most recently, I have built a log cabin in the garden and created a home pub called ‘The Daft Badger’.

What is the best piece of career advice you have ever been given?

Work hard. Simple. Don’t expect everything to land on your doorstep. You control your own destiny and you can be as successful as you want to be.
