Dumbleton Cricket Club (DCC) is well on its way to having a second pitch ready for the 2026 season.
Two years ago, Sheldon Bosley Knight helped the Gloucestershire club secure planning permission for the second pitch within the grounds of Dumbleton Hall.

The ever-increasing programme of cricket in the village and the desire to accommodate more young players and a women’s team made it essential to expand the facilities currently on offer.
The new pitch will enable DCC to cater for this, the inevitable extra matches and offer all the teams the opportunity to play at “home” in Dumbleton.
The Sheldon Bosley Knight team provided pro bono planning advice and support which enabled DCC to gain the necessary grant funding to start the project.
Set in the grounds of Dumbleton Hall, next to the main club and club house, the square is now in good shape and the grass is growing well.
Sheldon Bosley Knight custodian and DCC committee member Dan Jackson said: “It is an enormous privilege to be involved in a club with such a proud heritage and I’m delighted to see how good the new pitch is looking already!
“Now the grass seed has been laid and has taken well, we anticipate it will be ready for the 2026 season.
“The club is going great guns at the moment, due in no small part to the army of volunteers who help run it, with a fantastic quarter final match victory for our First XI at the weekend in the National Village Cup.
“I’m sure the new pitch will ensure the future continues to be bright for Dumbleton!”
